Paint Correction

Here’s an example of a typical paint correction job

8:00am – Prepare paintwork

1. Wash and rinse car, including wheels                                                                30 minutes

2. Remove surface dirt using clay bar & de ionise if needed                                 20 minutes

3. Chamois dry the entire car                                                                                10 minutes

4. Cover up areas that could be damaged by buffer                                             15 minutes

9:30am – Stages 1 and 2 – Remove existing scratches

5. Even out paintwork by removing deep scratches and

swirls with an aggressive cutting compound. We remove

just enough paint without causing paint degradation.                                           2.5 – 3.5 hours

12.00pm – Stages 3 and 4 – Remove swirls from stage 2

6. Re-buff the paint twice using a medium/aggressive

cutting compound and two different density pads. Our

compounds do not contain waxes, fillers or silicones that

would hide the swirls that we’re trying to remove.                                                2.5 – 3.5 hours

2.30pm – Stages 5 and 6 – Remove swirls from stage 4

7. Remove remaining swirls and polish paintwork to achieve an

extremely high wet-gloss finish using fine and ultra-fine

polishing abrasives.                                                                                           1 – 2 hours

Stage 7– Remove ultra-fine holograms

8. Complete the machine phase of the correction process

with a dual-action random orbital.                                                                      15 minutes

4:00pm – The waxing process

9. Apply a pre-wax treatment to strengthen the bond of

the wax and increase shine and longevity.                                                        10 minutes

10. Apply the first coat of Swissvax Wax                                                            15 minutes

4.30pm – The final detail

11. Wash car thoroughly, chamois dry, lift bonnet and

clean edges, and clean door jams.                                                                    15 minutes

12. Apply finishing Spray Magic and leave to dry while

the rest of the exterior is detailed.                                                                     15 min – 1 hour

Average total job time                  8 - 9.5 hours

Every paint correction job is different and the above is only an example based on standard 2k paint. Due to the resilience of nano scratch resistant and hard paints, it takes much longer to achieve the same result, but the finish will also last a lot longer.
